Why Yoga?

Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years. It is a system of physical and mental exercises with the ultimate goal of freedom. Physically it promotes stability, energy, flexibility and relaxation. Mentally it promotes concentration, balance and calmness. Regular yoga practice can lead to positive changes in your quality of life. And it is never too late to start!!

Yoga postures extend and flex the spine. They exercise muscles and joints, keeping your body strong and supple. Done in conjunction with breathing, they stimulate the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous and endocrine systems. They release stiffness and tension, free distortions of your spine, renew your energy and restore your health.

Yoga has always included breathing exercises and concentration or meditation practices. Breathing exercises(pranayama) direct attention to your physical and mental state, reduce stress and connect your body with your mind. Meditation nourishes your connection to a space of stillness and silence that already exists within you.

The practice of yoga adjusts and realigns your body to bring it back to its natural balance by freeing the habitual blocks and tension acquired over the years. When practiced in combination with a customized Ayurvedic program, the results can be simply transformative.

Taken together, yoga, breathing and meditation bring you increased health, sensitivity and energy and most of all, increase your potential in every possible way giving you the ability to live your life to the fullest.
